Here was the Carrots' last show at EMOS in Austin. They got back from a nationwide tour to play this set and then dissolve into the vegetable ether. This is Yellow Fever before the summer 2008 tour. I went out to see them play. They had many weird and wonderful shirts printed up, and were about to hit the road for six weeks. A lot of camping out along the way. In fact they are out there now, if you're reading this and you are in their path, you should go see them. Beautiful songs and beats that kill. God damn Jeremy Diaz for being the psych-rocker. He has been a psych-rocker for as long as I have known him. We also met in Denton. Hanging out, he turned my ears to Alan Vega's solo record and the Royal Trux box set. We talked, played and rocked out. Kevin Pearce called me and said, "let's psych-out in a warehouse!" So I said, "psych out in this warehouse for the summer." So this is the summer psych-out soundtrack for your 3rd eye! Yes, one of Austin psych's finest hours, and hours is modern now!!!

That first post is me fucking around. My apologies. Now here is a real taste of the Cave!

I met Dirk back in Denton, TX. We played our first bill together at the infamous Mabel Peabody's Chainsaw Repair bar, a lesbian bar on the outskirts of Denton. We had many good times there.
Walking the streets of Denton, we would run into each other. He would always have a book of songs, poetry, stories, tucked under his arm. We talked about songs over pizza and pop at the flying tomato pizzaria of Fry St. You can't cook down Dirk. He started his monster in the ninties with Business Deal Records, still going strong with his cast of good friends, musicians. With 25 lighters, Dirk needs to get paid. Dirk is Cave Dweller.
